Why Choose Gateway
The Gateway Advantage
Our Goal
To become the best maintenance, repair, new installation and service contractor
in the country.
HOW DO WE ACHIEVE OUR GOAL?
Knowledge
A company is only as good as the people that work in that company. In the continued
development of our contracting/service enterprise, we hire graduates of the N.A.I.T.
and S.A.I.T. two-year Air Conditioning Engineering Technology programs. These
pre-qualified candidates become highly proficient Journeymen Refrigeration Mechanics
through Gateway on-the-job training and the Alberta Apprenticeship program. From
our experience, we have found that someone who is willing to set aside two years
to learn the design and theory of Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilating and Air
Conditioning Systems (H.V.A.C.), is committed to becoming the best mechanic/technician
they can be. Hiring individuals of this caliber improves our chances of employing
the best possible person for the job. This in turn provides our customers with
the highest service quality and reliability.
In-House Training
During the year, Gateway conducts several day, evening, and weekend seminars
where our technicians are taught courses from Customer Relations to How to Diagnose
Complicated Systems. Every four to six weeks new system diagnosis and techniques
are taught.
RSES Training
The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society is a group dedicated to teaching
and discussing servicing and maintaining systems. R.S.E.S. meets monthly to discuss
and study service strategies and techniques. Mechanics can challenge exams to
become chartered members (C.M.). Yearly exams are made available at an R.S.E.S.
conference to become a Chartered Member Specialist (C.M.S.). This designation
is recognized throughout North America. We are very proud of Dave Clark, our
VP of Operations, who has successfully qualified for all four CMS designations.
(Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, Controls and domestic Refrigeration). All of
our technicians are influenced to be active members and Gateway is proud to have
the largest active R.S.E.S. membership in the province of Alberta.
Free Service Manager Assistance
On staff, we have two service managers who lend advice, assist technicians, deal
with suppliers and customers and co-ordinate repairs and maintenance. The time
these experts spend on your site and coordinating your work is free.
Service Response Time
We have the largest crew in the province; consequently, the customer's probability
of having a serviceman respond quickly is significantly higher. Our experienced
dispatcher prioritizes emergencies to minimize customer downtime.
24-Hour Services
We offer around the-clock service, 365 days a year, and in order to respond quicker
than anyone in our industry, we have two mechanics carrying pagers at all times.
Fully Stocked Vans
All of our vans are stocked with the common parts used. Our specialization allows
us to carry more relevant parts in the technician's van.
Free Parts Delivery
Due to the volume of work we do, we have a Parts Delivery Driver who delivers
specific parts to the mechanic directly on site from our warehouse or wholesaler
when the mechanic does not have that part in his truck. This enables our service
calls to be done quickly and helps to prevent wasted time and money. The technician's
time on site is utilized effectively completing your repairs, not picking up parts.
This parts delivery service is at no charge to the customer.
Compressor Rebuild Shop
We are able to rebuild or supply a rebuilt semi-hermetic compressor for our customer,
which is a large cost savings. Gateway rebuilt compressors carry the same warranty
as the factory units.
Latest Testing Equipment and Methods
Our investment in technology keeps your modern equipment calibrated properly
and running efficiently.
Company Diversity
With training in several disciplines, Gateway can be a single source vendor for
your mechanical requirements. This lowers your administrative burden and saves
you time and money. Because of our large crew and our dedication to being the
best, we have split our service department in two. One specializes in Supermarket
Refrigeration Systems while the other specializes in H.V.A.C. Systems. In addition
to this, we have a dependable and successful Construction Department with mechanics
specifically trained and equipped to work on new installations and renovations.
This specialization provides our clients with the assurance that an expert is
on the job.
Industry Leading Safety Program
Gateway is committed to work place safety and the protection of their employees,
along with the Customer's people and property. A regular company safety meeting,
at which all employees are welcome, is held every Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM
to address safe work procedures and safety equipment. Gateway holds a COR certificate
from the Alberta Construction Safety Association. Gateway was selected for a Work
Safe Alberta 2008 Best Safety Performer Award for exceptional performance in workplace
health and safety.
40 Years of History
We are on of the most experienced contractors in the trade. For 40 years, our
focus has been Refrigeration and H.V.A.C. (design, installation, maintenance,
service and repair). You have the piece of mind knowing that we will be here
in the long term to address your future concerns.
